The funny thing is that I had no intention of getting Arubaito (アルバイト) which means part-time job. But it is probably that I am up soo early in the morning that I got this job. Starting September, I will be tutoring English to a veeeery hyperactive grade school boy. The pay is not bad, Y2000 per session. So if I think about it, I get an extra Y10000 per week. Yay! But I am a bit hesitant though. I usually wake up early to study. But we'll see. You'd think that sugar would look so plain, but the okashi Natsuka-san gave me last Wednesday is just pure sugar. However it is a play of textures. At first, the okashi is a bit hard, but the moment you pop it in your mouth, it becomes gummy-like! Cool di ba? Plus the colors are pretty too!
I had this for lunch. It is a Chinese soup which is sour and spicy at the same time. Very nice. At least I am breaking free for some time from the salty broth of ramen.

Last Thursday, we were supposed to go the the Edo-Tokyo Museum (which I had been to). After which we were supposed to go to Asakusa (a place full of traditional wares) and then to eat dinner at a chanko nabe place. (Chanko nabe is a meal eaten by sumo wrestlers). I didn't go for a couple of reasons.
1. I've been to Edo-Tokyo Museum twice already (during my previous study tours)
2. The places are too far (about 1 hour commute)
3. It was going to rain heavily. (heavy rain in Asakusa means you can't really enjoy shopping that much)
4. Chanko Nabe is expensive. (Y3000) a meal
5. Since I don't have exercise, a chanko nabe meal will just make me fat!
So Ker Wee and I stayed in Kunitachi and tried a new menu at KFC (I know junk food). It is supposed to be a spicy chicken meal. The set had a soup, which is a clear broth with japanese mushrooms, a breast part chicken (which ended up to as spicy as H&C in the Philippines) and 2 pieces of Naan (yay!). What I noticed about KFC here is that chicken is eaten plain. No gravy, like the Philippines or chili sauce packets, like Singapore. Oh well!

As I recall, Hongkong KFC serves theirs with ketchup packets. No gravy also. But that was years ago. ^^
For exercise, you might try dumbells? Better than nothing. ^_~ Thirty minutes every day works wonders.
Congrats on the アルバイト! Just wondering...*how* did you get the job? Applied for it? Assigned?
Cute okashi as usual! They deserve a gallery all their own. Did you give Natsuka-san any of the goodies we sent?
Dumb frog! I gave the stuff to Natsuka-san. She really appreciated it!
