Food, food, food!!!

I haven't featured anything I've eaten in the cafeteria yet (except for bento). Last Monday, I tried a different type of ramen called Champon. The noodles looked and tasted like spaghetti (thicker than ramen noodles), the broth less salty (which would make mother happy), plus it had a lot of shrimps in it! I put some chili powder in it out of fear that it was not flavorful. And it sort of worked.

Today was a sunny day, so we decided to eat at the vegetarian place. It was owned by a Taiwanese, so the Chinese food was mostly Taiwan food. I got the set similar to Ker Wee. It includes a rice meal, some pickled vegetables and dessert. If you look at the picture, you wouldn't believe this to be vegetarian! The topping is make out of tofu skin, tofu of different textures and mushrooms! The dessert was lychee jelly with jujube (Iron Wok hehe)

Since it was warm, I decided to try my hands at making Japan no. 2! Unfortunately, it rained in the afternoon, so my bread didn't rise! Dang! It turned out to look like a HUGE bibingka! hehe! Took about 4 hours to make, but tasted fine! Fresh baked bread! hehe! When I took it out of the rice cooker, some of the people were soo curious to taste it, so before I could take a picture of it whole, it ended up like this. I'll flavor it the next time! I wonder what will happen if I add egg! (which the recipe suggested I should start with the next time)

Khursten told me her's ended up tasting like monay. Mine, the shell is soft. (probably since I used bread flour? and she used all purpose?)
