My Japanese classes for the summer started las Monday and was happy to have Tanaka-sensei (one of my first Japanese senseis) to be my teacher. She is very strict, but I think because of my familiarity with her, I am not bothered by her strictness. The other sensei is Takahashi-sensei who is soooo genki but goes a bit fast. Still manage to keep up though. My schedule is as follows:
9:30 - 12:00 (Reading) 1:00 - 2:35 (Speaking and Japanese expressions). Classes are pretty fun. Classmates include: Dina (Indonesian), Than-i (Vietnamese), Cris (New Zealand), Park (Korean), Dergi (Mongolian), Anna (Uzbeki), Uchiyama-san (Japanese-American), So (Korean), and a Norwegian/European who is studying at UPenn. Am (Thai) went to a different class and Khalid (Syrian) opted not to attend classes at all.
But before classes started, I caved and paid the exxpensive movie ticket price to watch Ratatoiulle or (レミの美味しいレストラン) Remi's Delicious Restaurant. While I could only watch the Japanese version (since the English version was only scheduled during the last full show), I really enjoyed it. It was definitely worth the money I paid for it. The only disappointment I had was the popcorn. The theatre sold STALE popcorn (which to me was like blasphemy). Haha!
On another note, Lawson (one of the convenience store chains here) currently has a promo involving the manga/anime "One Piece". I followed the anime when I was Singapore but due to the very long run, I decided to take the path of Naruto. I wanted to pick up where I left with One Piece, but I don't think I can. (say...the series is now up to episode 200++). But I bought one of the promo items which is a pastry in the shape of Luffy's (main character) straw hat. Haha!

Cheska, had just finished and will graduate from her MA course here, so me and Hanna attended her final presentation. After which, we decided to move away from our usual Tachikawa-Kunitachi-Kokubunji dinner spots and went to Kichijoji. We first went around the huuuge park they had. Bought some postcards from the indie artists peddling their good in the park. Later on, we had dinner at a Korean restaurant. My sister and brother-in-law are pretty much fans of Korean food, so I took this picture for reference. I ordered Bulgogi cooked in a stone bowl. After dinner, we had coffee and dessert at a Japanese tea house. I ordered a sweet potato pastry with soft cream (a dessert the twins would hate because it is a hot-cold dessert). An amusing dessert was the one Cheska ordered, Hokkaido hot balls which is basically uber-sweet pancakes shaped like balls with a maple syrup center and a carmel finish.

Things to look forward to:
This friday, will be watching Wicked!!!
Sept. 23 is the Tokyo Game show!!!

ウオオオオー!美味いパンや!
As I said, it's never too late to start on One Piece because if you delay it, the more fun you'll be missing.
Ano ne, have you seen the new Evangelion movie? lol.
Bro, that's bibimbap in the picture. ^_^
Looks delicious. ^_^
