Food week!

Natsuka-san gave this to me for our Thursday tutorial session. It is a box of dango but if from a certain region in Japan famous for the fairy tale Momotaro. Hence the box design. It was soooo nice, I wanted to bring it home (packrat tendency inherited from my dad). Unfortunately, my practical side kicked it and was too embarassed to ask for the box. hehe. The package and even the contents had different pictures of the different characters in the story. I was reminded of my new nephew when I look at these kid-stuff type things. hehe!

On another note, Kitaoka-sensei gave the entire class corn and an organic tomato each. She lives near a farm, hence gets them fresh. I loooove the corn. Although I cooked it only after two days, when I had free time. Sooo sweet and sooo good. As you can see in the picture. With regards to the organic tomato, I cooked some pasta and made it as a sauce. When Angel asked me about the tomato and I told him what I did, he replied "You cooked a fresh organic tomato???" haha! I know, I know. But I'm not really a fan of tomatoes, unless they are processed or in pizza or other foods.

The last picture will probably gross Toad out. Last Wednesday, me and Ker Wee decided to try a new recipe from his favorite cheap restaurant. This is hashed beef rice. Had a craving for corned beef and this was the closest I could get to it. The place is soooo cheap, the meal (which is a medium size serving) was only Y290!!! Soo good as well, although Ker Wee though there was too little meat in it! (And yes this is one of the few occasions I get to eat meat).

Hopefully tomorrow, I get to go to the Tokyo International Book Fair!

At least you took a picture of the box. It looks very nice. ^_^

You eat a fresh tomato with salt. That's how Mama eats it, I think. ^^ Or was it soy sauce?

Oooh...hashed beef rice! ^_^ A Myu actress mentioned it as her favorite food, and I've always wondered what it looked like. Now I know. Yay!
