Food, food and more food

We had a lot of tests this week. Mostly kanji, so most of my time was consumed studying. Was a bit stressed so I ate! It is a common fact among the siblings that when we are stressed, we eat. When there is something to celebrate, we eat! hehehe!

The first picture is cafeteria food. I wanted to get something different and pointed at the picture. It is actually like a "Korean Udon" (but the sign said soba) . Udon topped with pork, kimchi and other vegetables. This is my first time to try kimchi. I'm not really a fan. Also, as I mentioned before, I'm not keen on udon as well. Plus this was a cold dish. :( All in all it was okay, but for me, I prefer my food hot!
For my Thursday tutorial session, Natsuka-san brought another flower-shaped sweet. This season, hydrangea's are blooming, hence this okashi. The outer layer is jelly, like aloe in yogurt. The inside is mochi , I think, but I'm not too sure! It was a bit sticky, but deelish!
For friday, I had to go to the 郵便 (post office) to mail a letter for Dr Yu-Jose. Plus I needed to go to the bank to get brochures on a credit card I was getting, and later on, make Hanna read important information for me! So I was not able to eat at the cafeteria. After the bank, I went to the bakery beside it and bought "warm shrimp cutlet in weizenbrot." It was sooo nice! It had a bit of wasabi which I am not a fan of, but it is still okay! I also went to Mos Burger to get some onion rings! (felt guilty though! hehe)

Yesterday, I had to buy my breakfast bread, so I planned my errands during my study break! At 11-ish, I went out to withdraw money for the week, walked around and bought my bread. I decided on the unadventurous Wheat bread for the week! However, I decided to treat myself and ate at the Ramen shop beside it which I always wanted to try! However, given that I was in an actual ramen shop, I had to eat like the Japanese. Slurping my soup and noodles, noodles first then soup! (I usually do it the opposite way, soup first, then noodles).

Last Friday as well, me and Hanna went to Mitaka to attend her friend's event! It was actually an interesting thing! We were supposed to watch an anime on Sadako (not Ring) which is about a girl who survived the Hiroshima A-bomb . Then listen to the thoughts of her brother (who is still alive) about his sister's suffering and then a concert. We went to Mitaka early so that we could have dinner. We ate at UCC since Hanna didn't want Japanese food. I ordered the set meal which had a salad, pasta and tea. The salad was soo nice, although I can't figure out the dressing! The pasta was also nice. But the clincher was that they had parmesan cheese on the table. So I simply did what I do in Singapore, every helping of past a, I would put parmesan cheese on it! hehe! (plus parmesan here is expensive)
The picture is a bit blurry, but this is supposed to be the brother talking about his, his father's and mother's feelings about his sister's tragedy. Me and Hanna bought his book and had him sign it! Unfortunately, it is only in Japanese and German (German, I don't know why)

re: the first pic. Hmm...never let it be said that you didn't dare to experiment, Karl. ^^ It looks scary. hehehe

However, the okashi looks beautiful, in an eerie sort of way.

Don't feel guilty about indulging once in a while. ^^ Because restricting yourself too much will result in binges (which is worse) ^^ And onion rings are yummmyyy (though I haven't eaten them in a long time also. That time lang when Tin, Johann & I ate at Brother's Burger months ago)

LOL, nasulit yung parmesan. They're lucky it wasn't salt. :P

Mitaka...was the Ghibli museum nearby???
