I sort of noticed that I post REALLY long entries. Oh well.
Today I went to Church in the hopes of meeting CH. I went early since her last email said that she was going to try to attend the Japanese mass and then the English mass at 12. It was only after the mass that I was able to meet up with her and her friends. A friend of hers, (sorry I forgot the name), is an exchange student at Sophia and is touring them around. Naturally his Japanese was better than mine which is slightly non-existent.
Anyway, they invited to lunch. Their friend brought us to a nice restaurant! (Which I forgot the name as well, dang it!) I decided to treat all of them, since I am a "wealthy Monbukagakusho scholar" hehehe! But seriously, I'm doing what was done to me the first time I went to Japan. Dr. Jose and Yu-Jose treated the entire study tour group to an Indian restaurant with eat-all-you-can Naan. (My first time to eat Indian food by the way). My decision was affirmed when CH told me that the group had a common fund for food. Anyway, the place specializes in Udon and had a set menu for Y599. What you get is either Ka-re Raisu (Curry Rice) or Gyudon with a huge bowl of noodles. It depends what you want. I got the Udon in hot soup. It was good, but I'm not really a fan of large noodles. But the meal was nice anyway. The company was great. They were seven students plus me. We talked a bit. After lunch, they were off to go around, I had to go home and study! Wah!!!
But CH told me that she brought food, healthy food, through the orders of Lai! (Awww, thanks Lai!) So I'm going to go to their seedy hostel tomorrow night probably.
I also found the courage to buy some Filipino food outside the Church. I got sapin-sapin for Y500. (A bit pricey but oh well!). I plan to share it in class since Acho gave each one of us Bulgarian yogurt!
Today was definitely a good day!

Nothing wrong with long entries. hehehe
It was generous of you to treat the group to a meal. ^_^
I can't believe you called their dwelling place a "seedy hostel." LOL
Btw, what did the カレーライス look like? Is it similar to the ones we have here? Is it the chunky beef-stew type or the watery-curry type?
Hey Khursten,
The sapin-sapin was just two slices. Very expensive if you convert it. But people here don't care. If you know the Php 75 store near Pharoah in Makati, these are the people that bring the Japanes stuff to the Philippines and Philippine stuff here. Oh well.
About the udon, I feel the same way. Plus udon when you "slurp" it is messier. But the entire experience was interesting
