Easter

It is funny how it has been a year that I have been living in Kunitachi and have never realized how beautiful the place is. Last Sunday, after attending Easter Mass, I immediately rushed back to Kunitachi to prepare for dinner with my friends.

As I walked from Kunitachi station to my place, I see the Sakura-lined street. But now the sakura petals are falling like snow. I see families and friends gathering together and picnicking. How the scenery has changed through the seasons, from a bleak winter to a colorful spring.

I started cooking my meal. But things went a bit wrong. The skins of the mini-siopao I hade was to thick and hard. The saba I bought was not that ripe, so that when I fried it, it was a bit tough. The tuna lumpia skin I bought was actually for peking duck, which fried a bit odd.

In the end, my baklava turned out wrong as well. But dinner turned out better than I expected. Derya brought freshly baked bread. Angel brought juice. And we ate everything. I was pleased that the salad I made was eaten up. Nomi loved the lumpia. We had a hearty chat and had so much fun.

In the end, I realized that Easter is a time of renewal. Like the backdrop of winter renewed to a fresh spring, all the hard work and "stress" turned out to be a great Easter "feast".

Belated Happy Easter!
