Arrrgh!

This Thursday, for our Introduction to Kunitachi Culture, we participated in a tea ceremony. But dang-it! My cellphone was low batt, so I couldn't take pictures, especially of the おかしい (Japanese sweet) that was served to us. I had to rely on Ker Wee's pictures, (which I 'll post next time).

We were served two sweets. Yay! :P Very yummy and not too sweet! After the ceremony, we were asked to make tea for the person beside us. Oh no!!! I thought I did well.

Anyway, some observations. The tea ceremony is not for lefties. I have to use my right hand during the entire process. Picking up my sweets with chopsticks using my right hand is such a CHORE!!! Plus in making green tea, you have to get tea, pour water, whisk the tea, all with our RIGHT hand!!! I felt sorry for the person who got my tea. oh well.

Also, in the evening, I met with my tutor, Natsuka-san. I left my fone to charge and didn't take it with me. After the tutor session, the sweet girl brought おかしい again. Now, the shape was of a flower for May! Ding dang it! I didn't bring my camera again! Hay naku! I have to make a mental note of this.

Now I really value Toad's advice!

On a positive note, I found a nice grocery near by, called Coop. They have a point card (which I got, for Y1000 [a bit たかい] but I got a grocery bag (save the earth) and a bag of macaroni. (I was asked to choose between macaroni, chips and something else, I wasn't sure what it was, but I was rushing a bit)

Oh well, Coop find is thanks to Ker Wee who told me!Thanks Ker Wee!

Also I shared my Choc Nut which CH and her friends gave me! My classmates loved it! I gave the rest to Hanna and Siao who were very happy to eat something REALLY Filipino!

So thanks again CH!

Dunno if you realize this -- the name of the Japanese place we visit in Makati is also called "Coop" --

Oh, and parents want to see a photo of YOU. O_O

So turns out you're not ambidextrous where chopsticks are concerned? ^_~

The description of the おかしい sounds nice, especially the flower one. Your tutor is such a thoughtful and generous person. ^_^

Btw, I want to see a photo of you and your phone. ^^
